The values go far. This message is not only a promotion of Palm products, but also aims to showing the path of a journey that the Company has undertaken for nearly three decades.
In substance, Palm helps the transport of the goods with an absolute quality packages and with values, by introducing during the design and the manufacture of the wood’s pallets a social sustainability, environmental and economic criteria. These values show our understanding the role of the contractor and of the company inside the country: improving the value of the company, of the employees, of the customers and of context in which we operate, in order to reach a continuous improvement. This approach has led us, inside and outside our Company, to promote voluntary initiatives in order to improve the value of the people, the quality of the products, the quality of the land and the quality of the environment on which we depend.
Among the many initiatives of past years, Palm decided to start the development of the first Budget of Social Responsibility and Sustainability based on the three years period 2004-2006. The reasons for this voluntary choice, very hard for a small Company, are different and always connected with the idea of adding further stages to Palm’s journey: understanding and evaluating the activities and their negative and positive impacts; informing and reporting to the stakeholders the environmental, social and economical voluntary commitments, from the energy consumption to the staff’ activities, to the relations with the territory, to the evaluation of the surplus, to the perception of stakeholders by adopting the latest methods for sustainability reporting as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The new Budget of Social Responsibility and Sustainability proves to be a valuable instrument for communicating and listening to our stakeholders’ needs, and to demonstrating how Palm can be a trading and social partner of journey with opportunities to be discovered and values to be conveyed.
